In The Cendovian, Owen led Richard's cybersecurity firm Galanteen Systems. Its secret purpose was to protect all those working with Richard and Pari on digital transcendence research. An ex-military man with experience in both physical and cyber warfare, Owen understood how dangerous the world was. The dangers and cruelty he had witnessed strengthened his belief in the importance of secret mission he was charged with protecting.
A strong, no-nonsense leader, Owen was always careful to avoid letting his emotions cloud his judgements. In times of crisis, he called on others to do the same. A close friend of Richard, he was one of the handful of people that knew of Richard's secret work or of his quest to save Virginia. However, despite this friendship, he recognized that Richard was not greater than the cause. Owen was the first to propose that Richard might need to be sacrificed to protect the mission.
